The Challenge / Brief
Music releases exist in an intensely competitive visual landscape where memorability is critical. The challenge was to craft a direction that felt unmistakably powerful while remaining authentic to Yemi Alade’s persona; fearless, expressive, and globally resonant.
The identity needed to translate effortlessly across streaming platforms, merchandise, promotional campaigns, and large-format placements without losing impact. Every element had to feel intentional, scalable, and immediately recognizable.
The Design
The creative direction centered on strength, attitude, and visual clarity. Bold typography and high-contrast compositions were used to establish presence, while the handwritten “African Baddie” script introduced a sense of personality and defiance, mirroring the spirit of the project.
The cover balances editorial polish with cultural edge, allowing the artist to remain the undeniable focal point while the supporting graphic system reinforces recognition. Designed for versatility, the identity extends seamlessly into merchandise and promotional materials, creating a unified visual experience wherever the project appears.
The Result
The final outcome is a striking and cohesive visual identity that amplifies the EP’s voice while strengthening the artist’s visual footprint. From streaming platforms to street-level promotion, the system ensures consistency, visibility, and cultural relevance — positioning the release to resonate with audiences both locally and globally.
